General indemnity
 Any guest causing loss or damages to any fixed or movable property of Mingwe shall be liable to reimburse the lodge for such loss or damage. Mingwe’s owners accept no responsibility whatsoever for loss of, or damage to guests’ private property / valuables during their stay. Mingwe’s owners will not be responsible for any injuries or damages incurred while on the premises and facilities are utilised at own risk.
 
 
Arrivals and departures:
Arrivals between 14:00 and 20:00
Departures latest 10:00 (Unless an arrangement with the hostess has been agreed)
 
Security: For your own safety, please ensure to lock up the lodge and rooms when you are leaving the premises unattended. Do not attract unwarranted attention by openly leaving cash, expensive jewellery, laptops, cameras, binoculars and other valuables unattended or unsecured.
 
Monkeys/Baboons/warthogs  are frequent visitors to the lodge. They patrol the reserve and see the lodges as an easy source of food. DO NOT FEED THEM AND DO NOT LEAVE FOOD, DRINKS OR LITTER UNATTENDED on the deck, boma area and dustbins. The consequences of this will be perpetual raiding, potential for injury to occupants and costly cleaning of Mingwe and replacement of damaged items. Everyone must be aware and disciplined in this regard.
 
Smoking: There is a strict non-smoking policy applicable inside any Mingwe buildings. If smoking outside, please use ashtrays and ensure your cigarettes, etc. are properly extinguished. Please don’t leave cigarette butts in the bushveld. Littering: No littering will be allowed in and around Mingwe or the Itaga/Mabalingwe area that may damage or deface any fauna or flora. Cigarette butts included. An extra cleaning/penalty fee could be charged and deducted from the breakage deposit at management’s discretion in the event of non compliance.
 
Fires: Exercise extreme caution when making a fire in the boma. Make sure you know where the nearest water source (hosepipe) is located.  Extinguish all open fires / braai coals in the braai and boma area prior to going to bed.  Do not leave open fires unattended.   Do not use dustbins for hot ash.  No fires / braai allowed on the deck. Open fires are not permitted on windy nights. The thatched roof of Mingwe presents a great fire risk – please exercise extreme caution.
 
Swimming:  Children should not be allowed to swim without adult supervision. No diving or jumping allowed in the pool.
 
Energy Conservation: Turn off  lights and appliances when not in use during your stay. Please ensure to do the same upon check out. Don’t forget the stove/oven.
 
Water Conservation:  Please keep your water usage within reason.  Ensure that taps are properly closed.
 
WiFi: Please be responsible with the WiFi and do not download any movies or large files as our network bandwidth is limited. Password available next to the entrance.
 
Emergency contact numbers are available in the main house.
 
Noise:  In consideration for the neighbour’s and the wildlife, noise must cease between 22:00 and 07:00. Itaga Camp and Mingwe Lodge has a low noise and low music volume policy, which applies to every day, 24 hours a day. Failure to comply will result in fines.
 
Tenants and guests: The lodge sleeps 8 people – no additional guests are allowed. Guest qty confirmed upon booking not be exceeded. No day visitors are allowed without permission of the lodge owner / letting agent.  Children must always be supervised by an adult.   No domestic animals / pets allowed General:  Keep all windows and doors closed when not in the room in order to prevent wild animal entry.   Keep the doors at the entrance, pool and boma  closed. It is not advisable to sleep with the doors open.   Use repellents for mosquitoes, particularly during the rainy season.  You are advised to take adequate precaution against the sun.
 
Fauna and Flora:  Do not in any way disturb the plants, trees, insects and animals around Mabalingwe.  Animals have the right of way. No person is permitted to hunt, cull, capture or shoot game or fish anywhere on Mabalingwe.  No collecting of firewood allowed – please bring your own or order from your hostess. The feeding of animals is strictly prohibited in terms of the reserve rules.  All wild animals must be treated with caution and respect, approaching and the petting of wild animals is not permitted and unsafe.  Visitors are not allowed to write, mark or affix any name letter, figure, symbol, drawing or any other mark onto a building, road, tree or rock. Open space and environmental control: No camping and or picnicking shall be permitted except at any place set aside for the purpose and designated as such  Swimming is not permitted in any dam or river in Mabalingwe. There are Hippos and Crocodiles.
 
Conduct at the estate:  No washing of any nature, may be hung out or placed anywhere to dry except in the drying yard or such other area designed for such purpose.  The lighting of fireworks is not permitted.  Visitors may not stay overnight at any place other than the Lodge they are checked into
 
Disclaimer and personal undertaking  The tenant/guest hereby acknowledges that the content of the Terms and Conditions were read, understood and that he/she has fully accepted the Terms and Conditions. He/she also acknowledges that all his/her guests understand and accept these Terms and Conditions.  The tenant/guest acknowledges that this resort is a Nature Reserve and inhabited by dangerous animals and reptiles.  The tenant/guest also accepts that the management of Itaga and Mabalingwe Nature reserve and the board, owners and agents, do not accept liability for loss, damage or inconvenience caused by animals, weather conditions, injury, power cuts, fire or theft of any kind.  The tenant and his/her guests acknowledge that a fine or penalty will be implemented by the Management of Mingwe and/or Itaga Body Corporate or the Mabalingwe Common Property Association, when Reserve and Lodge rules are broken. The tenant/guest will be held responsible for any fines received by his/her guests. This fine/penalty will be deducted from the deposit held by the Booking agent or the lodge owner
 
We would be grateful if you could leave the lodge in the same condition you find it. If the lodge is left in an unsatisfactory condition there may be additional charges. Enjoy your stay!
